Step by Step

You will depart from the port of Alghero in a 4×4 vehicle that will take you along secondary roads to reach scarcely inhabited areas in the interior of the island. From the top, you will enjoy unforgettable panoramic views of the Gulf of Alghero while your guide explains the differences in landscape between the coast and the interior.

You will make a first stop at a viewpoint above the Nuraghe Appiu, an ancient settlement where you will understand the legacy of the Nuragic civilisation. Next, you will enter the Mediterranean scrubland, learning about the indigenous species and their traditional uses, from aromatic plants to wild fruit trees.

Turning off the main road, you will follow shepherds' tracks to reach a cork oak forest, where you will learn about the process of extracting cork, one of the great local treasures. Afterwards, you will visit the Parco Archeologico di Porto Poglina, where you will explore a restored nuragic village and admire its megalithic constructions.

On your way back to the coast, you will make a last stop to watch the majestic wind lords, the griffon vultures, and stop at a nearby beach. A typical Sardinian aperitif awaits you there: pecorino and ricotta cheeses, carasau and guttiau breads, island cured meats, and two glasses of wine (Vermentino and Cannonau) to toast the adventure.
