Step by Step

This where the tour starts and you meet your guide. After that, it will be a 2 hour journey to Neuschwanstein.
Schloss Neuschwanstein, often known as Germany’s "Cinderella castle," was actually the inspiration for a different Disney story, the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ castle at Disneyland.

The entrance fee to the castle is not included (you can pay on the day), but by booking this tour in advance, you’ll receive skip-the-line access to Neuschwanstein so you won’t waste time standing in the ticket queue.

Once inside the enchanting structure, take a tour with a guide, who shares fascinating stories about the reclusive Bavarian king who commissioned a new residence in the 19th century. Thought to be mad, King Ludwig II desired a fantasy castle built in the mountains, an obsessive feat that was still incomplete when he died. Visit the best vantage points for views and photo ops of the castle’s towers, interiors and surrounding scenery such as the lake, gorge and equally beautiful Hohenschwangau Castle.
We will return to the train station to conclude the tour.

Thomas was an incredible guide at Neuschwanstein Schloss. His passion for King Ludwig II and knowledge of the castle’s history made the experience really informative and fun. Highly recommend!

It’s a day trip from Munich, but well worth the time and expense. The castle and the setting are everything you’re hoping for. Plus, you’ll get a good overview of Bavarian history. Only negative: no photos allowed inside…I assume this is to boost book sales in the gift shop.

We had the pleasure of touring Neuschwanstein Castle today with our guide, Thomas, who was nothing short of exceptional. Informative, engaging, and wonderfully entertaining, Thomas set the perfect tone for the day. When we first arrived, the castle was shrouded in fog, leaving it hidden from view—a mysterious and almost otherworldly start to our adventure. But as we made our way up to the castle, the sun broke through, gradually lifting the mist to reveal the breathtakingly magical sight of Neuschwanstein in all its glory. We opted for the audio tour, and we were so grateful for the insights Thomas had shared beforehand, as they enriched the entire experience. Just when we thought the day couldn’t get more enchanting, snow began to fall as the sun dipped lower in the sky, creating a scene straight out of a fairytale. Truly unforgettable!
