Step by Step

You will start in Épernay, the vineyard capital of Champagne, where your driver-guide will welcome you. After a brief introduction to the terroir of the region, you will head to Hautvillers, the picturesque village where Dom Pérignon once lived. There you will visit the abbey of Saint-Pierre, learn about the legend of the monk who perfected the méthode champenoise and admire the vines that inspired him.

From the highest point of the vineyards, you will enjoy an explanation of viticultural management and an unforgettable view of the Vallée de la Marne. You will then drive through Cramant, Chouilly and Avize, crossing the "Kingdom of Chardonnay Grand Cru" and stopping by the bottle factory and LVMH's most exclusive private estate.

The tour continues with a visit to two family houses: you will enter their century-old presses, cellars and cellars to taste 3 Grand Cru or Premier Cru in each. You will learn how to distinguish between a natural, extra-brut, vintage or barrel-aged Blanc de Blancs, and receive serving and pairing tips.

Before returning to Épernay, you'll take a guided stroll along the Avenue de Champagne, visiting its stately mansions and learning about the history of legendary brands such as Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouët and Pol Roger. This is the cherry on top of a tour that combines history, landscapes and, above all, the art of living Champagne.
