    Our guide was terrific. I actually paused to write down something he said — that a historic building that no one finds a new use for becomes “a quarry.” I enjoyed his personal touches about his grandfather. He had to hunt us down at one point when we got lost. I wish we could have seen the frescoes.

    We had a wonderful visit with Matilda. It was an informative and very entertaining tour. She was very knowledgable and really brought to life the Popes Palace! Avignon is a beautiful place to explore and we highly recommend Matilda!

    The guide had good knowledge of the area and the Pope's palace. It was nice to finish with a small (2 wines) tasting. If you really like history, get an audio guide for the palace.

    Ir was a very insightful tour with a friendly and very good local guide. We did the morning tour which includes the area around the popes palace and the place de l’horloge, as well as the visit inside the popes palace. We did not visit a big part of the city, but an important one. The tour ends with a stop at a very nice wine place where we were able to taste a white and a red wine from the Rhône.
