How far from Las Vegas is the South Rim?
Compared to the West Rim which is 3 hours, the South Rim is actually 5 hours away from Las Vegas, however the area features over 24 different viewpoints to see the canyon.
What is the best viewpoint of the Grand Canyon in the South Rim?
The most popular viewpoint comes in the form of Mather Point and while views are amazing, the area can get very busy due to its popularity. A less-crowded alternative comes in the form of Yavapai Point. If you're particularly adventurous, I would recommend walking along the Hermit Road, though be warned the walk is a staggering 11 km (7 mi) long.
When is the best time of year to visit the Grand Canyon?
The Grand Canyon's peak season tends to be in the Summer, meaning this is where you'll get most of the tourists. To avoid them, the best time to visit is during March through to May, and September through to November. You'll also have the added benefits of cooler temperatures.
