What to expect
By joining this guided tour of about two hours you will get to know St. Peter's Basilica, the main church of Vatican City, and gain exclusive access to the dome area.
An expert guide will accompany you and reveal the legendary secrets of the holy see, where the pope offers his liturgies to the parishioners.
You will climb up to the terrace of the dome, a monumental structure of 41 meters that will allow you to appreciate the city from an unparalleled perspective, with panoramic views of the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Square and the Vatican Museums.
You will enter the papal necropolis, located a few meters below the central floor of the basilica. In this crypt are buried historical figures of the Catholic religion, such as St. Peter the Apostle and Pope John Paul II.
You will have the opportunity to appreciate the interior and exterior of this architectural marvel designed and built by famous artists such as Michelangelo and Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
One of Michelangelo's creations that stands out is the sculpture Pietà del Vaticano, in which the Virgin Mary holds Christ after his crucifixion.
Bernini's The Vision of Constantine, an equestrian sculpture of 1670 in honor of the Christian emperor, dazzles in the right wing of the atrium of the basilica.
You can live this experience in small groups of a maximum of 20 people, in which you will also stroll through St. Peter's Square, where the faithful of Catholicism congregate daily among the 284 columns and 88 pilasters of the monument, known as the Colonnade, also a work of Bernini.
