Step by Step
Phoenix is a metropolis surrounded by desert, which makes it perfect for an ATV tour. This off-road tour starts in the town of Black Canyon City, a few kilometres north of the capital, and heads into the Bradshaws Range. When you choose this activity you don't have to worry about a thing: in addition to the quad bike, you'll be provided with all the necessary equipment (helmet, mask and goggles) and a bottle of water to keep you hydrated.
Before you start driving, an expert guide will explain the characteristics of the vehicle and the driving style to follow (for approximately one hour). He will then take the lead of the group, driving through the rugged trails of the area. In total, the activity lasts approximately 3 hours.
You can choose between different time slots, and if you are worried about high temperatures, it is recommended that you choose the first excursion in the morning.
Driving an off-road vehicle is not complicated, but it certainly requires some care, such as weight management to improve stability. Keep in mind that you should dress appropriately, avoiding skirts, dresses and open shoes (flip-flops, sandals, etc.). In any case, the centre's staff will help you choose the right vehicle for your level of skill and experience.
Phoenix is located in the middle of the Sonoran Desert, with its typical reddish mountains and a skyline dotted with saguaro cacti. This vast wilderness is a typical backdrop for cowboy movies and a quad bike tour will allow you to traverse it in a very enjoyable mode of transport.
