Since 2014, Las Vegas has a large panoramic Ferris wheel. It has a height of 167 meters and 28 oversized cabins. Each is equipped with screens that explain the stories of the attractions that are admired from the window. The High Roller is open every day of the week and each ride lasts 30 minutes.

As for the price of the ticket, it depends on when you choose to go. If during the day it is cheaper, around 25 €, while at night the cost of the ticket amounts to about 35 €.

Many prefer the first option to enjoy a view that reaches up to the mountains, others are inclined towards the second for the spectacle of lights.

The Ferris wheel is located on The Linq, a pedestrian walkway on the Strip. After your ride on the High Roller you can try some Hawaiian cookies at Honolulu Cookie, buy some original socks at Socks and Bottom or have a beer at the bars in the area.

We've seen it in dozens of movies but few know its history. It all started in 1995 when Bally Entertainment, owner of nearby Bally's Las Vegas, announced the launch of a new hotel and casino. The shareholders' meeting decided to pay homage to the French capital with replicas of its attractions.

Paris Las Vegas is a gigantic resort embellished with Art Nouveau sculptures, Impressionist paintings and replicas of monuments such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre. The Eiffel Tower is the hotel's postcard-perfect landmark and its slender silhouette overlooks the nearby Bellagio Fountains.

It is the tallest observation deck on the Strip and 5000 tons of steel were used to build it. You can go up to the vantage point from 15:00 to 22:00 paying about 25 €. For more information I recommend you to read the post about tickets to the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas.

The Waldorf Astoria opened in 2009 as the Mandarin Oriental and was sold and rebranded in 2018. It is located in the middle of the Strip, next to Crystals mall.

One of its attractions is the SkyBar: it is located on the 23rd floor and from its large windows you can enjoy an incomparable view over the skyscrapers.

Its cocktail menu is cared to detail and includes both classic and daring options. If you book a table, I recommend ordering the following creations:

  • Atomic, a nod to the state's nuclear past. About 100 kilometers from Sin City is the Nevada Test Site, a military area used for nuclear weapons detonations. During the tests, the high command used to have a drink of gin, berry liqueur, raspberry syrup, sparkling wine and a few drops of lemon juice. There are tours from Las Vegas to the test site. It is a unique opportunity to see a "hot" spot of the Cold War.
  • Sinatra, the cocktail dedicated to the eponymous crooner. Its ingredients are Tennessee whiskey, Amaro, lemon juice, mesquite honey and egg whites. The singer was known both for his voice and for his possible relations with the mafia. If you are interested in this subject, I recommend you visit The Mob Museum in Las Vegas. You will learn about the exploits of organized crime and the most relevant police operations.
  • The Waldorf, the drink invented at the New York headquarters of the hotel. The bartender mixes scotch, orange liqueur, vermouth and bitters and envelops the glass in a fog of absinthe.

Of course! To see Las Vegas in its entirety, the best way is to reach the Red Rock Canyon, a natural park about 25 kilometers from the Strip.

If you have a rental car, you just have to leave the city and drive along the Scenic Drive, a road that touches all the highlights of these reddish mountains.

In this desert landscape, a few species defy the scorching temperatures. While driving you can spot donkeys, coyotes, hawks and other animals. Are you passionate about nature? Then I recommend you to take a look at the post about National Park tours from Las Vegas.
